(09/27/19) Indiewire: 'Swiss Army Man' Directors Passed on 'Deadpool 2' to Make a Sci-Fi Movie With Michelle Yeoh

Currently in pre-production, "Everything Everywhere All at Once" has been described as an "interdimensional action film" in earlier reports, with Michelle Yeoh attached to star. "It's not officially greenlit, but we're so close, and we're so bummed it took another three years to write it," Scheinert said. "It's about a 55-year-old Chinese woman trying to finish her taxes. It's kind of like if Dan Kwan's mom was in 'The Matrix.'"

(09/20/19) Director Daniel Scheinerts speaks about the film project with Michelle Yeoh

Excerpt:
Crazy Rich Asians may have been less strenuous, and safer, for Michelle Yeoh without having to hang on wires or perform fight choreography. She never stopped doing action though, as recent movies like Master Z: Ip Man Legacy and Crouching Tiger, HIdden Dragon: Sword of Destiny proved. Scheinert and Kwan will make her do both.

"We're going to do what Hollywood hasn't been doing lately," Scheinert said. "She can be more than just an intimidating mom. She's going to show off the fact that she's literally super powered."

"It's another ambitious effects heavy dramedy about what if Dan Kwan's mom was the star of The Matrix?" Scheinerts said. "We've been writing the new movie for a couple years now and gearing up to, fingers crossed, make it very soon, hopefully shooting it this winter."
