Michelle Yeoh wax figure at Madame Tussauds Shanghai

Madame Tussauds Shanghai is the sixth branch of the renowned wax museum in the world and the first such branch in mainland China. Opened in May, 2006 in Shanghai, China, the museum showcases 21 wax figures of celebrities including Yao Ming, Jackie Chan, and Michelle Yeoh. Madame Tussauds today has five other branches located in London, Amsterdam, Hong Kong, Las Vegas and New York.

These photos were taken by Kinky Chan, a Michelle fan from Shanghai. Kinky is a student at the Donghui Foreign Language High School in Shanghai. This was her first time taking pictures on her own.

This was the first time I've taken pictures on my own. They aren't professional so please forgive the quality as it isn't that great.

Talking about this trip to the Madame Tussauds, I felt quite funny - and very happy too (of course). Michelle's wax figure is placed at a very prominent spot. Basically it was the first figure I saw when I entered the museum. I stayed there for more than an hour, looking at the figure and taking photos. Most (more than 90%) of the visitors, when they passed by Michelle's figure, commented on how beautiful she is. Some people said: "I like her very much. She has some wonderful qualities inside her." I was so happy to hear other people saying this! There were also some people (about 40%) who did not recognize or know Michelle (there are no name tags next to the wax figures). They could see I kept taking pictures so they came to ask me. I was very happy to answer their questions, such as her name, her famous work or her achievements. They all liked her after I explained to them what I knew, and many of them wanted to take a picture with her too. One man was pretty funny. He heard Michelle was a Bond girl, so then he got a pair of dark glasses, put them on, and took a picture with Michelle's figure.

I'm Kinky Chan. My Chinese name is Chen Chang Wen. I'm a girl from Shanghai China. I am attending "Donghui Foreign Language High School" and I'm 16 years old. I have been a Michelle fan for four years. "The Touch" was the first film that I watched which was made by and starred Michelle. At that time I felt she was the most special actress I've ever seen. She can do stunts which even men can't do! She is so stunning in this film. After watching the film, I couldn't forget the actress for a long long time. I wanted to know more about her. I did some research and then I found out that she is Michelle Yeoh. I started to look for her other movies and pay attention to news about her. Year after year, day after day, until now I'm still doing so and will continue to. I'm proud to be a Michelle fan because she is such a special person and actress.

I'd love to say "I love you, Michelle"!
